About the brand
The distillery was founded by the Laird of Jura, Archibald Campbell in 1810. The distillery fell into disrepair but was restored in 1884. Around 1900 it was again in disuse and dismantled. In the 1950s two local estate owners Robin Fletcher and Tony Riley-Smith keen to revive the local economy had the distillery rebuilt and expanded by the architects Lothian, Barclay, Jarvis & Boys with input from whisky and distillery expert William Delmé-Evans. The work was completed in 1963, and included the installation of taller stills, allowing the distillery to create a mix of malts.

Hi Jura. The other refinery ran by Richard Paterson that he doesnt appear to promote much about I wonder why that is? I havent had numerous containers from Jura-the last one I had was the patched up multi year and lets simply state that I wasnt a very remarkable fan. Ive had the 10 and 12 additionally I think and possibly two or three NAS discharges. The stunning part is that as per the greater part of my notes-Ive delighted in the NAS ones the most. Thus lets check whether that proceeds. This survey is for the TRE discharge from 2015: Turas-Mara. Its Gaelic for long journey and the story behind this jug is that it was done to respect nearby Scottish highlanders that were dislodged to remote terrains quite a while in the past. This container is chill-sifted has included shading and is additionally packaged (like most Jura) at odd ABVs. This one is 42%. Its sparkly copper in the glass and shows up slick. Heaps of legs and huge amounts of beads ring the Glencairn after you twirl it a piece. The nose begins minty and peppered and extremely Irish-like: rich smooth and vanilla sweet. Theres pound cake rich notes and some dim vine natural products out of sight. The key here is that everything is on the lighter side. The sense of taste emerges ready to take care of business with increasingly dull organic product: plums blackberries and dark fruits. Lavishly sweet with an increasingly sugar coated pleasantness by mid taste. Daintily salted vanilla bites and caramels coat the tongue before a heating flavor note begins shivering your tastebuds towards the completion. Of which its a little on the more drawn out side than most Jura Ive had previously. Its at first zesty with new cut oak spirals waiting on the grounds that the pleasantness blurs truly quick. Theres still next to zero warmth and the sleek substantial mouth feel sticks endlessly its just for the most part wood and pepper. Its an odd method to complete after all the dim leafy foods however its not awful. Generally speaking this is another NAS from Jura that Id much preferably drink over their present age articulation stuff. That sort of discloses to me that they arent utilizing premium barrels for long haul maturing which is troubling and dubious. I surmise theyd rather transport the majority of this stuff off for mixes and simply discharge NAS stuff intermittently to keep up rack space? I dont know. That would bode well behind Richard Paterson not investing a lot of energy advancing them and concentrating on Dalmore as the exceptional brand he speaks to. In any case this one is strong and worth searching out Im not certain what a jug costs however Id pay $40-50 for it. Because of my amigo @Generously_Paul for the pour. 3.75 stars my companions. Good health.
