First released in 2017, Michter’s US-1 Toasted Barrel Finish Rye takes Michter’s US-1 Kentucky Straight Rye at barrel strength and finishes it in secondary barrels made of special wood that was seasoned outdoors for 24 months and toasted to the distillery’s specifications, but not charred. The toasted barrel finish enhances the spice character in the rye and adds hints of dark toast and smoke. Produced in highly limited quantities, each barrel is bottled straight from the cask with an average proof of 109.8.
