Bottled at 86- Proof (43% ABV), the expression represents an unprecedented fusion of Scottish blending tradition and Japanese culinary artistry, presented in a distinctive midnight blue glass bottle with a custom display box.

Tasting Exploration

The whisky unfolds with an intriguing nose of sautéed mushrooms, sesame seeds, and tobacco leaf, complemented by bright citrus notes. The palate reveals a restrained yet captivating profile of vanilla, walnut oil, and toasted wood, punctuated by gentle smoke and subtle soy undertones, finishing with a balanced, inviting complexity that beckons repeated exploration.

Here that Elusive Umami — a more appropriate name than I thought at first — showcases ample complexity that proves that the House of Walker has plenty of additional tricks up its sleeve. One of my favorite expressions from the Blue Label special editions to date.
