Bottled at a slightly higher than-average 86-proof, The Macallan Fine Oak 21 is finished in three distinctively spiced casks for a complexity unlike any other. This single malt scotch is a sublimely distilled Speyside spirit that captures the heart and soul of all things Macallan. With a glowing amber coloration, this whiskey spills out an aroma intricately woven throughout with sweet vanilla essence paired with the exotic and exciting scents of newly pressed passion fruit juices. The palate is just as vibrant and soul-awakening with alluringly soft layers of warmly toasted spices dipped in fresh oranges and earthen hues of dark peat.

An older, discontinued expression of Macallan matured for 25 years in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks. Presented in an excellent timber box. Built in 1700 The Macallan estate lies in an area of great natural beauty. Macallan uses smallest spirit stills on Speyside, which Contribute to the distinctively rich, fruity 'new make' spirit of the distillery. Interestingly, these stills are so famous they have appeared on the back of a Bank of Scotland banknotes. The Macallan spends more time on sourcing, building and caring for its casks than any other distillery. Spanish sherry seasoned oak casks produce flavours of chocolate, dried fruits and spices; American sherry seasoned oak casks provide sweet citrus, light spice, vanilla and light oak, whilst the American bourbon seasoned oak barrels offer sweet citrus, coconut and oak.

One of the Macallan's most iconic and legendary single malts, the Fine Oak series is now discontinued and extremely hard to find. A rare mix of different casks, ranging from European and American oak casks which held Sherry or Bourbon, the Macallan 18 Fine Oak is bottled at 86-proof and represents a remarkably approachable single malt with rich sherry notes, subtle vanilla and sweet citrus, and a unique and interesting oakiness derived from its cask profile.

The Macallan Fine Oak 17 year old single malt scotch presents an aroma of sweet smoke, slick palm oil and browned butter alongside vanilla-coated pork cracklings.
