Straight from the rolling hills and emerald green landscape of Oregon, Big Bottom Whiskey opened in 2015 and was named after a protected area of the Mt. Hood region of Oregon. Highlighting their budding selection of authentic whisky is their offering of Big Bottom American Straight bourbon – a small batch, non-chill filtered whisky aged in young white oak casks. This NAS (no age statement) whiskey keeps to Big Bottoms precisely proof strength of 91%, used for all their offerings in tribute to their owner Ted Pappas. The nose is rife with waves of char and rye spice. A sip and the palate reveals more notes of spice along with powerful waves of rye, tendrils of warm honey, and just a kiss of sweet melon. …
