Forged Oak 15 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 750ml
A mystical stag ventures out of a misty forest, long tines of his rack laced with dark vines as ghost-like breath rushes from his flared nostrils … Orphan Barrel’s Forged Oak 15 year old Kentucky straight whiskey weaves this tale of magic from label to libation! Created from a blended mash bill of 86% corn, 7% barley, and 6% rye, this bourbon is aged for 15 years in charred white oak barrels for a finished cask strength of 90.5 proof. On the nose, aromas of aged oak and vanilla parade through a rain of caramel. The palate enjoys tones of vintage leather-wrapped oak, sweet caramel, and cracked pepper with a hazed of smoke.

About the brand
Designed to uncover some of the whiskey world's rarest hidden treasures, Orphan Barrel is the brainchild of world-renowned liquor magnate Diageo. A truly unique project that sources 'forgotten' or 'abandoned' batches and barrels that distilleries may have left behind or not released for production, Orphan Barrel locates ultra-aged American whiskeys from some of the most famous distilleries around the USA and reinvents their release. Whether it's the spectacular Lost Prophet 22 Year Old, originally distilled at George T. Stagg Distillery, or the scintillating Rhetoric 23 Year Old, which was partially matured at the old Stitzel-Weller Distillery, Orphan Barrel unearths some of the most beautiful and complex 'orphaned' bourbon whiskeys that the United States has to offer, giving them new homes where they can be enjoyed rather than lost in time.

This disappearing item is a drop multi year and the name completely accommodates it's notes. Nose of oak wet wood dried vanilla. For me the oak is ruling the field. body is light coordinating it's shading which is astonishing for a multi year. Sense of taste of flavors peppers Carmel. It improves toward the end in an exceptionally decent manner. The tannins from the wood come out. I appreciated this one I wish the $65 sticker price was a piece lower. Continue drinking my companions... Skol!

So when in doubt I like to attempt these a couple of times before auditing however this one is simply excessively enticing with it being an uncommon to discover multi year age expressed whiskey. So this is more visually impaired going in. Inclination going in I'm anticipating that this should be disappointing fairly ineffectively matured and for the most part a little advance up from IW Harper multi year (a baffling all be it superb nosing whiskey). Ought to likewise call attention to Stitzel Weller shut in 1992 importance this would have needed to have been in a steel vate since 2007 12 years for this to really be 15 years of age and from Stitzel Weller. The story doesn't generally checkout. Nose - vanilla caramel calfskin completed dusty wood. Sweet effectively in the top quarter of sweet whiskey noses. There's a great deal of that dusty oak extremely decent for us oak fans yet I would already be able to advise this will be over oaked" for some. Taste - Vanilla truly is the story here. The caramel notes from whiskey are well in the back ground as vanilla just barrages this one. There is some unpleasant oak on the back giving it a zest and bit of nibble. The 90ish evidence is extremely delicate and extremely just is seen toward the back. Water truly did nothing to the nose or taste - positive or negative. Alright so decision. It's excessively light direct. The pleasantness from the nose doesn't come through here. The oak includes a ton of zest which is going to agitate many individuals however for an oak fan it doesn't include the more exceptional cowhides or that cherry note I frequently get. It is anyway plainly more seasoned whisky it has some exceptionally decent sweet and widely appealing quality notes (widely appealing as in it wasn't extraordinary in more will we say "uncommon" sorts of flavor for example very hot rye notes or overly sweet notes). I come to for 30 bucks I can get Eight and Sand with a comparative profile for 30 bucks and honestly that may be better whiskey. 2 stars - if 100 bucks is well out of your ordinary buy extend this should tumble to 1 star for you. It's a hard go for everything except the individuals who need to attempt all more established whiskeys such as myself. I was discussing going 2.25 or 2.5 because of my general valuation for the age explanation there are some quality all be it quieted notes."
