Handpicked by the malt master from some of the oldest casks in the Glenfiddich Distillery, Glenfiddich 40 year old Rare Single Malt Scotch is a pioneering example of authentic malt mastery! Produced in a mere 600 bottles per release, this sublime whisky is composed of hand-selected casks that are married together with the leftovers from the previous bottling's vatting. This process is called "remnant vatting" and ensures each new release contains whiskies that are 40 years old and older. Glenfiddich 40 year old is the only single malt whisky in the industry to be created using this unique process. Winner of the Best of the Best single malt by Whisky Magazine in 2003, and a trophy winner at the ISC and IWSC in 2008, this superior single malt is housed in a distinct presentation case made of hand-stitched calf leather and includes a beautifully bound book detailing the journey of each bottle, from vatting to finishing. Had a measure at the refinery in 2009. For all intents and purposes dissipated at first before a solid arrangement of flavors. Couldn't imagine anything better than to attempt again with my increasingly complex sense of taste.
