The follow-up to the massively popular toasted barrel finish bourbon – this time, Michter's has created a limited-edition rye, bottled at cask strength. This Kentucky straight rye is made by taking Michter's US*1 Single Barrel Rye at barrel strength and finishing it in a secondary barrel. These finishing barrels are made from 24 month air-dried staves. The barrels were toasted, not charred. As the rye whiskey is bottled at cask strength, the proof will vary. You can seriously taste the toasted oak in this one. And then the sweetness kicks in with a bit of chocolate and a surprising hint of pork bbq. Really enjoyable!

Toasted oak and wood char, campfire notes and earthy rye hints.

Taste

Powerful and bold, strong rye is noticeable immediately however there are sweet, seductive elements and an almost marshmallow like taste.
