Combining the cold North with the traditional South, Barrell Craft Spirits 16 year old Gray Label Seagrass Rye Whisky is a collaboration of American and Canadian rye whisky finished using an intricate aging and blending methodology. The method entailed maturing ratios of the distillate separately; a portion in superior apricot brandy casks and a second in Martinique rhum barrels. These were then carefully blended and finished in Malmsey Madeira ex-wine barrels. Distilled in Canada and matured for 16 years, BCS Gray Label Seagrass Rye launched in Spring 2022 bottled at varying cask strengths - depending on the batch release. On the nose, the senses savor shimmering notes of rye spice, dill, and mustard seeds baked into rye toast, all lightly seasoned with mulched bark. The palate coats the mouth with peanut oil and shaved coconut paired with boughs of tea tree essence and citrus-spiced Madeira wine.…
