They don't make them like they used to..a truer statement as never been uttered then when referring to this lost gem. A true 12 year old age statement Kentucky Bourbon, rare as hens teeth these days. About as complete a bourbon aroma as you are likely to find...one of the most beautiful noses found anywhere in the world today. A bourbon to keep in the mouth forever. Elijah Craig was named for a reverend who lived in Virginia. He kept a warehouse where he stored barrels and one day experienced a devastating fire. He used the charred casks regardless and found they imparted a lovely character. This is a great 12 year old small batch bourbon, named in his honour. Produced by Heaven Hill and named after the disputed inventor of Bourbon Rev. Elijah Craig; he put his whiskey into barrels that had been charred in a fire. This is a small-batch bourbon (in this case, it is made from 100 or fewer barrels) and has a traditional bourbon mash-bill (one with 70-80% corn and remainder rye and barley).
