About the brand

Established over 155 years ago, Henschke is a family-owned, family-run Australian winery located in the historical Eden Valley wine region. Founded by Johann Christian Henschke, born on 24 December 1803, this profound brand is known for its quality, superior selections, and considered presence in the win industry, Johann was from Silesia and fled his homeland for Australia in 1841. In 1862, he purchased land in what now is called Keyneton, and by 1868 - he produced the first vintage of about 300 gallons of wine. Renowned for crafting one of Australia's ultimate cult wines, Hill of Grace - a Shiraz varietal first produced in 1958 and classified as "Exceptional" by Langton's Classification of Australian Wine - Henschke has launched other select wines including blends of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, grenache, and chardonnay. A member of Australia's First Families of Wine as of 2009, this superior brand of premium wine has grown to international acclaim by continuing to uphold the wine-making legacy of the Henschke family from generation to generation - one sublime sip at a time.
