One of the most coveted whiskies in existence, Ichiro's Malt "Card" Series is the pinnacle of Japanese whisky collections.

Ichiro's Malt Card King of Clubs Japanese Single Malt Whisky

The Pinnacle Of Japanese Whisky Collections

Following the closure of Hanyu Distillery, Ichiro Akuto, grandson of the founder of the distillery, rescued the remaining stocks and in 2005, created the now legendary 'Ichiro's Malt Card Series', a collection of bottlings from Hanyu's old rescued stocks. Highly coveted for their exceptional rarity and extreme collectibility, the series is a collection of single cask releases featuring one of 52 cards on the label, two jokers and a follow-up release of four cards. Featuring the ‘King of Clubs’, this offering is bottle 334 of 417 and was distilled in 1988 and aged in a hogshead before being finished in an ex-cognac cask. With extremely limited numbers produced of each card, these releases make an incredibly treasured addition to any collection.

The King Of Clubs

This remarkable whisky opens with elegant aromas of delicate vanilla and toffee before developing into a rich bouquet of orange, pear and plums. The palate is exquisite leading with rich vanilla and wood before gradually building in spiciness with notes of pepper and peat.

One of the most powerful, complex and impressive whiskies I've ever tasted. If you ever have the privilege of sipping this remarkable dram, know that you are tasting liquid gold.
