Distilled in 2002 at The Macallan Distillery, Speymalt Cask 1189 has matured for 20 years in a single first-fill Sherry cask and bottled at a cask strength of 112.6-proof.

The Richness Of Macallan Without The Exorbitant Price Tag

The nose presents aromas of stewed apples with toffee and zesty orange The palate is smooth with dark chocolate, toasted hazelnut and subtle licorice, leading to a spicy finish with notes of lingering oak.

People will think this is inferior because it doesn't have The Macallan label, but I would say even surpasses The Macallan's 18 Year Old expressions. A remarkable single malt whisky and at this price, it encourages drinking rather than collecting.
