Crafted from lost and almost forgotten bourbon barrels, Orphan Barrel Rhetoric is a series of extremely rare, one-of-a-kind bourbon expressions. Released annually, each new year results in an older and wiser limited release from remaining maturing stock. Distilled in 1994, these barrels were reportedly “found in the old Stitzel-Weller warehouses” with the distillate cited as coming from Bernheim Distillery prior to that. Crafted from a mash bill composed of 86% corn, 8% malted barley, and 6% rye and aged two years longer than the first release, Rhetoric 22 Year Old is an older and wiser whiskey finished to 90.4-proof.
