A highly coveted iteration for collectors and enthusiasts, it includes WhistlePig's customary hand-chiseled pewter ornamental stopper depicting a "war pig" and cannon as a tribute to Raj Bhakta and the brand's legal struggles at the time of its release. Aged for a minimum of 14 years in select oak casks and finished in hogshead 250-liter Scotch barrels featuring virgin American oak heads, Bottled at 120.2-proof (60.1% ABV) and produced in roughly 30 select barrels (notably not categorized as a single barrel due to the hogshead), Boss Hog III The Independent is rye straight, tried and true; a WhistlePig Farm winner – every time!

A "mislabelled" WhistlePig 10 Year old Single Barrel Rye Whiskey, the WHA Head Honcho is in fact a 17 Year Old barrel pick distilled in February 2003 and bottled in November 2020 at 108.2-proof. A happy mistake, this is undoubtedly one of the most collectible single barrel expressions of WhistlePig thanks to the mismatch surrounding its maturity.
