Originating from the ancient land of Kavalan in Taiwan, the pristine water drawn from the surrounding mountains, combined with the unique climate, gives this whisky its distinctive character. Bottled without coloring or chill-filtration, it showcases the purity and quality that Kavalan is known for. Produced from a mash bill of 100% malted barley, this NAS whisky is aged a minimum of 7 years and bottled at a varying cask strength of 50-59.4% ABV

An Experience Worth Savoring

The nose is rich with sweet sherry, honey, and sugary preserved cherries, leading to a palate of toasted wood, raisins, coffee, sherry, and vanilla. The finish is rich and complex, leaving lingering notes of dried fruit and spices.

If I could afford it, I’d always have a bottle of the Kavalan Sherry Single Cask on my shelf and instead of being a “special occasion” pour it would just be what I drank on Wednesday. Score: 88/100
