Originally unveiled in October 2009 at Changi Airport, this limited edition pays homage to Macallan's founding year of 1824. Part of the exclusive 1824 Collection, only 1,824 bottles were produced for duty-free travel retail. Bottled at 96= Proof (48% ABV), the release represents a moment in the distillery's nearly 200-year history of exceptional Scottish whisky production.

The MMIX (2009) release is the first in a series that would later include MMXI (2011) and MMXII (2012) editions, marking a significant moment in the distillery's modern collectible releases.
