Pioneering Production

This groundbreaking 4-year-old single malt undergoes an extended 160-hour fermentation before maturing in former Rye, Bourbon, and virgin oak casks. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 120.4-Proof (60.2% ABV) without coloring or chill-filtration, only 10,000 bottles were produced of this mainland-peated spirit that hints at the distillery's future direction.

A Sweet Smoke Symphony

Honeycomb and dried fruits merge with smoldering oak on the nose, while the palate delivers waves of cinnamon-stewed pears and heather honey. Notes of pipe tobacco and smoked barley dance with vanilla toffee and orchard fruits, creating a uniquely balanced peated profile.

For a whisky that's only 4 years old, this is pretty stunning. It isn’t quite the same, but it certainly has a character that reminds me of the old-school Islay Scotches I've had the pleasure to taste. The profile is very layered, especially with its dominant orchard fruits that is accented by that mellow ashiness.
