Crafted from an intricate combination of Spanish and American oak casks from renowned cooperages including Tevasa, José y Miguel Martin, Diego Martín Rosado, and Vasyma, this limited edition demonstrates the profound impact of barrel selection on flavor development. Bottled at a precise 48.4% ABV (96.8 proof), the vibrant burnished copper liquid represents the marriage of tradition and innovation that has defined The Macallan since 1824.

A Bold Exploration of Spice and Fruit

The nose presents bold honey sweetness accompanied by fresh apple, orange zest, and warming ginger and nutmeg spices, all balanced against robust matured oak with subtle green wood and floral undertones. The palate immediately opens with nutmeg, wood spices and green cloves before transitioning to a sweet vanilla creaminess that coats the mouth luxuriously. The finish remains fruity with oaky sweetness that lingers impressively.

There’s initial oily red fruits, ripe and stewed and delicately layered, giving more volume to the distinct wine character of sherry-casked Macallan. I’d say this one is a fitting tribute to Macallan’s new home.
