The 2003 iteration of Eagle Rare's 17 Year Old Bourbon was distilled in Winter of 1985 and bottled at 90-proof in the Fall of 2003, representing one of the earliest iterations of this formidable BTAC release (with the collection beginning in 2000). A must-have for collectors, the 2003 limited edition release is an historic piece of whiskey history and bears testament to the quality and complexity for which BTAC and ER17 are revered. The 2014 Eagle Rare 17 is a mislabelled anomaly in the BTAC cache. Distilled in the Spring of 1993 and originally released in Fall 2014, the 2014 vintage of Eagle Rare 17 year old bourbon was actually a 19 year old bourbon at the time of bottling... Talk about an oak bomb. Double distilled in beer stills with a finished barrel strength of 90 proof, ER17 2014 was released in a 4,351 bottle outrun from an original crop of 26 hand-picked barrels.

Another curious happy accident in the BTAC catalog, the 2012 vintage of Eagle Rare 17 Bourbon is a Spring 1993 distillate released in the Fall of 2012, that was actually 19 years and 1 month old at the time of bottling...
