A new offering from esteemed distiller The Macallan, the Harmony Collection Rich Cacao was launched in 2021 as the first release in a new annual line of limited edition single malt scotch whisky designed to celebrate 'perfect pairings' and harmonious flavor profiles. The Rich Cacao, bottled at 88-proof, is a collaboration with world-renowned pastry chef Jordi Roca (of 3 Michelin star fame at El Celler de Can Roca), and specifically tailored to pair with fine chocolates and is crafted from a combination of sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks with a 'zero-waste' approach. A homage to the cacao plant in its entirety, the gift box is made using discarded cacao pod husks and is 100% recyclable, another aspect of this fine whisky that tells a unique and interesting narrative from inception to the final product.

The second instalment in The Macallan's Harmony Collection, the Fine Cacao Single Malt is the second iteration in this limited edition series, designed to champion eco-friendly, sustainable processes in collaboration with a number of masters in the coffee world.  The Macallan Fine Cacao was released exclusively for travel retail in select Macallan Boutiques, with this 80-proof single malt exponentially rarer than the preceding release, Macallan Rich Cacao.The slightly lower-entry 80-proof makes this whisky an extremely approachable dram, further accentuating the creamy chocolate, burnt toffee, subtle oak and intense coffee notes seen throughout the profile.
