This 1998 vintage of Old Rip Van Winkle Pappy Van Winkle’s 23 year old Family Reserve Bourbon is the epitome of what many would consider a “unicorn cask”. Aged a minimum of 23 years in charred white oak casks with a mature barrel strength of 47.8% ABV (95.6 proof) and composed of an undisclosed mash bill, this 1998 edition is the oldest release in the Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve line and is known the world over as one of the most collectible and much-loved bourbons on the market.
