MGP distillery of Lawrenceburg Indiana, established in 1941, crafted their Ambassador Barrel Proof 12 year old straight bourbon with just that in mind. A connection of their story, taste, and authenticity defined in an exceptionally crafted whiskey. The nose begins the story with vibrant notes of fresh mint mixed with vanilla bean and warm cinnamon baking spice. A smoky haze of aged tobacco and grain soon follows for a very unique blend. On the palate, The Ambassador straight bourbon bring its message home with a taste of rich mint leaves, toffee candied in vanilla, pipe tobacco, and caramel. A surprising hint of earthen mushrooms and alkali hover just in the background. MGP sent the perfect message in a bottle with this straight bourbon whiskey, and we receive such a masterfully ‘written’ message with open arms (and open mouths!).…
