This second release from Michter’s US*1 Limited Release Toasted Barrel Finish bourbon was first offered in 2015 and carries on the legacy of flavor set by its predecessor in 2014. Aged in newly charred American white oak barrels, this NAS bourbon is then finished to 91.4 proof in perfectly toasted barrels made from 18 month old air-dried wood. Sourced from an undisclosed distillery and composed of a mash bill containing a minimum of 70% corn, 2015 Michter’s US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish bourbon was released in extremely limited batches, with one such batch producing a mere 670 bottles. The nose opens with cocoa and oak over vanilla, smoked wood, and flower blossoms. On the palate are tones of honey, spiced wood, vanilla, and layers of smoke. …
