Discontinued in late 2012-2013 when Macallan introduced its 1824 NAS lineup - this older styled Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an exclusively aged whisky matured for at least 12 years in premium Jereze Spanish sherry oak casks. Bottled at 40% ABV for the European markets (43% ABV for the US), this highly coveted and rare bottling is a revered favorite among Macallan collectors, making it increasingly difficult to find on the open market. Pronounced aromas of dark wine announce themselves boldly on the first whiff, followed by hints of tannins, aged oak, and a subtle, sulfurous tang. The tongue explores droves of sherry, tannins, caramel, sweet syrup, and slivers of oak. About the brand
