Brought to proof with water from a legendary spring, this corn whiskey is aged with oak and cherry wood. The corn used for this whiskey is sourced from just a couple of miles from the distillery located in Western Massachusetts. The mash bill is 90% corn and 10% barley and is distilled in a small copper lined pot still. It is aged briefly in used oak and cherrywood that are cut, milled, and charred on site. Established in 2007, Berkshire Mountain Distillers (BMD) has created a line of award-winning artisanal spirits including Greylock Gin, Ethereal Gins, Ragged Mountain Rum, Ice Glen Vodka, Berkshire Bourbon and New England Corn Whiskey, currently available in 19 different states. All products are handcrafted in small batches in Sheffield, Massachusetts at the Berkshire’s first legal distillery since prohibition.…

Sweet corn on the button peppery zest with fruity sweet flavor.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Aroma of apple, oak and cherry. Initial notes of sweet corn and a hint of dried fruits, particularly cherries.

Taste

Bold, slightly oily with generous chargrilled corn and leathery flavours with pronounced peppery spice. This has the plate of a young whiskey but with a smoothing effect from the leatheryness.

Finish

Finish is slightly hot, with a touch of smoke, oak and dark chocolate.
