About the brand
A master distiller from Italy, Giacamo Justerini (the ‘J’ in J&B), falls head over heels for an Opera singer, Margherita Bellini, and follows her to England. His love is unrequited, but Margherita introduces him to Samuel Johnson who will in turn introduce him to his future business partner, his nephew, George Johnson. Two generations of Johnsons later we meet the other initial in J&B – Alfred Brooks. Brooks buys the company from Johnson and renames it Justerini & Brooks. Brooks hears of Andrew Usher, an Edinburgh Spirit merchant, who likes to experiment and was the first person to commercially blend whisky. Justerini & Brooks task Usher with creating a smoother blend for a new audience, so he brings his business partner into the mix – James Anderson. Together they develop the J&B Club blend, one of the earliest Scotch house blends, and they acquire the business together. Enter Eddie Tatham, a family friend of Anderson’s. Eddie is hugely charismatic and soon becomes director of the company. In 1929, the creation of J&B Rare was put in jeopardy when Eddie, after taking orders from wealthy clients in Prohibition-era America, was arrested at Grand Central Station carrying a briefcase full of samples. Eddie is bailed out and meets Charlie Julian, a blender known for his great nose, refined palate and his instinctive knowledge of consumer demands. They begin the blending process for J&B Rare – just in time for Prohibition to come to an end. We’re now celebrating over 250 years of J&B, a history filled with dynamic individuals and a heritage built on chance encounters. A story that shows the good that happens when people come together. A brand that’s made for people who like to mix things up.

This is the first of a progression of audits I'm doing of twelve moderate mixed scotch whiskies. Nose: An underlying ethanol and malt profile with some light nectar black out vanilla and fruity notes. The organic product is to some degree citrus however best portrayed as like the smell of tinned natural product serving of mixed greens. Sense of taste: A hot liquor appearance with some going with metallic flavor. This forms into a malty pleasantness. Finish: Short as anyone might imagine. The malty pleasantness from the sense of taste turns mixed and somewhat metallic toward the end. This is a very soul driven and grain-substantial mix with a slender and to some degree removed character. Id bet that the malt content in this mix is very low. Its not really terrible yet there is so small going on with which you can draw in that its not worth drinking perfect. I didn't identify any peatiness or smoke during tasting yet you can smell black out smoke on the dry glass so it is there as an establishment - however it may very well be the consumed metal note some youthful segment despite everything grain whisky appears to have. As a blender it is workable if rather flat however I wouldn't trouble on the grounds that at the value there are better mixes. In certain regards it is like current Instructor's Good country Cream yet fortunately it maintains a strategic distance from the unpleasant/sharp character of that mix. Sufficient" : 1.5 star"

Solid taste of lemon on the sense of taste just a trace of peat which I appreciate. Blends in with ginger lager very well.

You get what you pay for with this stuff. It's not horrendous however. It's drinkable and shockingly goes down genuinely smooth slick. I can extremely just legitimize 2.25 stars for this one; in any case I will include that it is one of the better base rack mixes I've attempted. In case you're on a tight spending plan and you simply need to get from direct A toward point B consider snatching a container of J&B.

Lemon and grain on the button with a pleasantness I can't exactly place. Genuinely sweet with nectar in the closer view and citrus components. Delicate get done with the pleasantness enduring on the tongue. A shockingly pleasant mix yet I detected NO peat.
