Produced by one of the most superior winemakers of Bolgheri Italy, this 2019 vintage bottling of Ornellaia Bolgheri Superiore is a masterful example of legacy winemaking married with the natural terroir found around the famous Ornellaia Estate. This premium red wine is composed of a blend of hand-selected varietals, specifically; 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. 2019 Ornellaia Bolgheri has a maceration period of 10-15 days and is aged for a minimum of 18 months in 70% new/30% refill oak barrels. After the first 12 months, the wine undergoes an assembling process before being returned to the barrels for a final 6 months of finishing. Once bottled, 2019 Ornellaia Bolgheri is rested for another 12 months before being released. Classified as a super-Tuscan wine, this excellent quaff has amassed quite a world-class following and was awarded a resounding 97 points by both international wine critic James Suckling and Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.…

About the brand

OOrnellaia Winery was established in 1981, in the region of Bolgheir, Toscana, Italy. Long considered one of Italy's leaders in producing premium Bordeaux-style red wines, the estate was originally owned and operated by the Antinori family - with the help of legendary winemaker Tibo Gal. The brand released its first vintage in 1985 and grew in popularity throughout Italy and internationally. Catching the attention of the prestigious Robert Mondavi Winery, Ornellaia came under the ownership of Mondavi in 2002, with an interest controlled by the Frescobaldi family. Frescobaldi soon took control of the entire estate in 2005 and recruited the expertise of wine master Axel Heinz and oenologist Michel Rolland. Building on this extraordinary foundation, Ornellaia Winery offers several award-winning varietals, including its signature Orenllaia Bolgheri Superiore Rosso, the Le Serre Nuove Dell'Ornellaia Rosso, and bottlings of both Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blends.
