Previously marketed under the name Crested Ten - a confusing misnomer as this particular release isn't 10 years old - the recently rebranded and internationally remarketed Jameson Crested Blended Irish Whiskey pays homage to the first days of Jameson bottling their own whiskey, way back in the 1960s. First launched in 1963, Jameson Crested is prized for having a rather healthy portion of pot still distillate along with single-grain Irish whiskey in the blend. Aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, this NAS dram is matured for at least 3 years and is finished at 40% ABV. The nose features sticky caramel, butter, rich sherry, and orchard strawberries macerated with banana and cream. The palate is rife with more rivers of sherry, strawberries, cream, and hints of honey, spice, and minerals. Sublimely crafted and entirely too quaffable - Jameson Crested is a fruity-finished fine Irish whiskey from nose to sip to the last dregs in the glass!…

About the brand

Contrary to its origins in 1780 Ireland, Jameson Whiskey was actually founded by Scottish-born lawyer John Jameson. The brand began as part of 6 main whiskeys produced and distilled at the Jameson Distillery located in Bow Street, Dublin Ireland. However, production of this iconic whiskey was taken over around 1966 by Irish Distillers, a subsidiary of French aperitif manufacturer Pernod Ricard; owner of renowned brands such as Chivas Regal and Absolut Vodka. Originally available by the cask only, it wasn’t until 1968 that this superior whiskey could be purchased by the bottle. Since that time, Jameson Whiskey has expanded the brand and is now sold in over 130 countries worldwide. This distinct Irish whiskey uses a unique triple-distillation process along with expertly sourced oak barrels from England, Spain, and the US in the creation and aging of all of its whiskies.
