25 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750ml
Only 3,000 bottles of this single malt, which was matured for a quarter century, have ever been produced. The Dalmore 25 is matured initially in American white oak before a second maturation in a combination of Palomino Fino sherry butts and first fill bourbon casks. These are then married together in bourbon barrels before a finishing period in Tawny Port pipes.

About the brand
Currently standing as Whyte and Mackay’s largest distillery and the flagship for the brand, Dalmore was originally founded by Alexander Matheson in 1839. Dalmore’s character is rich and unarguably full-bodied, with orange, chocolate and coffee flavours, making it an extremely popular choice as a post dinner digestif. The distillery was built by Matheson in 1839. On its completion it was immediately leased to local distillers, the Sunderland family, who ran and managed it for over a quarter of a decade, until in 1869, the lease was taken over by three Mackenzie brothers, Alexander, Charles and Andrew. Originally built with only 2 stills, this number was doubled in 1874 and then following Alexander Matheson's death, the distillery was fully purchased by the Mackenzies in 1891. Although the popularity of Dalmore was booming, war brought a cease in production. The distillery was closed in 1917 production due to the Royal Navy were using the warehouses as factories to produce mines. They vacated in 1920, yet, the Navy had left their mark – leaving a part of the buildings fire damaged. Due to the necessary reconstruction, Dalmore only resumed production in 1922. The distillery remained under sole ownership until 1960, when it was merged with Whyte and Mackay, with the new company increasing the number of stills from four to eight in 1966. In the period between 1970 and 2002 ownership of Whyte and Mackay changed hands a number of times until resting at its current Indian ownership, with parent company Whyte & Mackay having been bought by Indian tycoon Vijay Mallya's United Brands group in 2007. Each expression of The Dalmore is matured in two different types of wooden casks: American white oak bourbon and exclusive aged sherry casks. Each sherry cask –hand selected by multiple award winning Master Distiller, Richard Paterson – gives the whisky its deep copper colour and notes of almonds, cinnamon and citrus. The bourbon casks give the whisky notes of vanilla, spice, honey and tropical fruits. The Dalmore has a selection of awards under its belt, with the 15 year old winning Silver at the 2014 International Spirits Challenge; Silver Highland Scotch Single Malt at 2013 & 2014 International Wine & Spirit Competition, the 18 Year Old: receiving Silver Award (Distillers Single Malts between 13 and 20 years old) at the International Spirits Challenge, 2014, and the 12 Year Old a Bronze Medal at World Whiskies Awards, 2016.

Once in a while you get the chance to taste an uncommon whisky and in some cases they live to their desires. Dalmore 25yo is one of those measures that are overly pricy so you truly consider it like one day I will have a measure of that"; however till that second comes you simply stand by patienly and you trust it in the long run occurs. Indeed my time was at a bar in Scotland where the whisky is possibly the least expensive contrasted with any online store and you can get yourself just a single measure of the container without following through on the full cost. The Dalmore 25 discharged no such a long time ago has been developed first in American White oak containers to then be developed in a mix of two sorts of barrels Palomino Fino Sherry and ex-Whiskey. Be that as it may was it any acceptable? Lets see... Packaged at a weird 42%abv which is somewhat uncommon quality extraordinarily for Dalmore. On the button It is Great. Resembles a Fig has been set straightforwardly into my nose and mind by a Holy messenger. Figs all over the place jelly Blackberry Jam; and youthful raisins the purple delicious ones. On the sense of taste it is incredible additionally with a clean nutty/almond note. Exceptionally simple drinkable extremely winey feeling is dry. The wine profile overwhelms. Lingering flavor was additionally great. The completion had a stunning figs almonds and wine notes; excessively smooth smooth excellent. There is a Tobacco note extremely spotless and charming. Generally this is one astounding measure that lived to each desire sure is costly however now with one glass I have had I can cross it out from the pail list. 98 more than 100 Slã¡inte Mhath!"
