About the brand

Michel Couvreur was founded in 1978 by renowned revolutionary wine and whiskey connoisseur Michel Couvreur, who settled in the Burgundy region of France at that time with the dream of building a life-work of worthwhile whisky showcasing premium oak finish and select terroir profiles. I have had a different expression of Michel Couvreur in the past (Overaged Malt) and I found it to be absolutely fabulous. I do not believe that expression is available any longer but I keep looking! When I saw this new expression listed I was quite excited as I had hoped it would somehow match my previous experience. Although this was a very good whisky it was completely different than I was hoping. Not that that is a bad thing, it was just not what I was hoping for. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and am very glad to have this in my collection as it is a unique whisky of exceptionally high quality.

I got this container as a present along these lines I don't know numerous insights concerning it. This single malt was refined in Old Meldrum Good countries yet it was maturated in Sherry barrels in Burgundy caverns France. I'd state this foundation settles on it an intriguing decision for your night.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Mince pie, petrichor, heavy fruit cake and a hearty helping of nutmeg.

Taste

Very well-balanced. Sherry notes are up front and sweet (almost creamy), but the robust peat earthiness keeps it all in check. There are a few notes of black liquorice tucked away in there too.

Finish

Mineral-y smoke and juicy sultana.
