Offered in extremely limited batches, Pappy 23 whiskey is composed of a high percentage wheat mash bill and aged a minimum of 23 years in charred American white oak barrels to 95.6 proof. An annual release from Buffalo Trace, Pappy’s Family Reserve series is produced in an estimated 84,000 bottles per year or roughly 7,000 cases. 2015 Pappy 23 has a nose of forest herbs, chocolate, and smoked tobacco over minerals, pine, and vanilla custard.
