About the brand
In the 1700s and 1800s, Rye was the number one spirit in America, and for good reason: Rye grain was plentiful, and it made damn good whiskey. But with the enactment of Prohibition and the closing of Rye distilleries, its usage declined. Now, following decades of discreet existence, there is a renaissance in the Rye category as craft cocktail bartenders and consumers alike rediscover its bold, spicy character. Redemption’s award-winning whiskey is produced in small batches for those who appreciate a nod to the past but have a taste for what’s new. Redemption Whiskey is carefully hand-crafted in the river town of Lawrenceburg, Indiana at the 172-year-old MGP Distillery – Whisky Advocate’s 2015 Distiller of the Year. While Redemption is perfect to enjoy neat or on the rocks, it also serves as an excellent base when used in both classic and modern cocktails. Its bold, spicy notes shine through any cocktail without overpowering the drink. Redemption is a brand with one purpose and one purpose only: to bring Rye whiskey back to its rightful place.

Keep away from! Most lamented bourbon buy to-date at $100. Must let breath for at any rate 60 minutes to help to some degree. Overwhelming dill in sense of taste and finish - more than anticipated with this being a barrel evidence MGP rye. Something different exceptionally off in the sense of taste/finish - perhaps synthetic or plastic. This is the first out of 12+ ryes I have ever emphatically hated. There is something in particular about the unpleasant rye persistent flavor that gets me. It suggests a flavor like all the most exceedingly terrible pieces of rye and like there is no other unpredictability or flavor from whatever else in the crush. It appears the out of control finish (sharp dill?) of the MGP ryes deteriorates with age as ithe same ghastly delayed flavor impression that is available in the Russell's Save Rye (6yr's) is more awful in the Recovery 8yr. Then again its not so much present in the Bulleit Rye from MGP which is matured at any rate 4 years (4-7 years however more probable 4-5). I incredibly incline toward High West Meeting Rye and even potentially Twofold Rye with regards to MGP ryes thinking about the odd harsh/acrid taste to this. I very much want Willett multi year rye and Colonel Taylor Rye to each one of those just as Handle Spring Rye and Infant Sazerac contrasted with this. Its positively not worth the $100 paid for it. All things considered it's something totally different (past sweet ryes Willet Rye MGP rye and High West mixed rye) if that is what you're searching for. I do get gingerbread however more dry than sweet.
