The follow-up to the massively popular toasted barrel finish bourbon – this time, Michter's has created a limited-edition rye, bottled at cask strength. This Kentucky straight rye is made by taking Michter's US*1 Single Barrel Rye at barrel strength and finishing it in a secondary barrel. These finishing barrels are made from 24 month air-dried staves. The barrels were toasted, not charred. As the rye whiskey is bottled at cask strength, the proof will vary. With a wide range of superbly crafted and expertly matured single barrel and straight cut bourbon whiskeys, Michter's is certainly deserving of a place in any top-shelf collection. Truly timeless.

Nose

Toasted oak and wood char, campfire notes and earthy rye hints.

Taste

Powerful and bold, strong rye is noticeable immediately however there are sweet, seductive elements and an almost marshmallow like taste.

Finish

Long, exaggerated and clean - surprises with smoke and subtle spice.
