Released in 2020 by NDP (Non-Distiller Producer) Doc Swinson’s, this featured offering of Doc Swinson’s Exploratory Cask Series Release 6 15 year old Straight Bourbon highlights a relatively new mash bill composition and aging process for a truly innovative whiskey. Composed of a mash bill containing previously unheard-of measures of 78.5% corn, 13% rye, and 8.5% malted barley, this select bourbon is sourced from unknown distilleries and originally aged a minimum of 15 years in traditional oak casks before being transferred into food-grade plastic totes to stop the aging process. This step prevents leakage and evaporation and preserves the full integrity of the bourbon. Swinson’s Exploratory Cask Series Release 6 yielded 18 barrels, or 2,664 bottles worldwide, and is finished to 59.1% ABV. …
