Never one to fall behind the times, Elijah Craig Whiskey, from the Heaven Hills Distillery family, has increased its standings among the luscious lands of whiskey with their offering of Straight Rye, a classically crafted rye with a mash bill of 51% rye, 34% corn, and 15% malted barley. This no age statement whiskey has a finished cask strength of 94% proof and lays claims of being ‘extra aged’. Released in early January 2020 to limited markets, E. C. Straight Rye offers up the aroma of squeezed citrus, rye spice, and sweet cherries paired with sugared strawberries.
