Introduced by Lux Row Distillers - the Ezra Brooks 99 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon is another expertly sourced whiskey highlighting the dramatically enhanced tones of charcoal-filtered bourbon from the Ezra Brooks legacy. This NAS whiskey is an ongoing offering released in January 2021 from Lux Row and is a blend of 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley. Matured in new charred oak casks with a finished barrel strength of 49.5% ABV (99-proof), the nose begins with trails of baked wood, vanilla wafers, and caramel over hints of shelled peanuts and light tones of classic bourbon. Great initial bite then quickly smooths out. For the price, it has quickly become go to bourbon. Very similar to Wild Turkey 101.

Sour oak and caramel candy. All around a good flavor profile albeit a little simple. Has some heat but it disguises itself as a flavor note. It initially reminds me of Old Crow, at its base, but turns it up a few notches with additional flavor and proof. A solid pour.
