The nose isn't overbearing at all. You can dive deeply into the glass. The first notes I got were a nice vanilla and caramel. Looking even further, there is a nice medicinal aroma and freshly turned forest dirt. The palate is where I'm at a crossroads. There is a very subtle chocolate that pairs with that vanilla off the nose. Then you get this light trace of salt while the rye grain spice & black pepper walk it back. It's even got a rather lengthy finish that's sweet, dry, and malty/grassy almost at times like a straw of hay. Light mint hint as well on a deep inhale, but normal breaths not to noticeable. On its own, neat makes for an enjoyable sipper.
