To the eye, this 15 year old whiskey has the rich golden brown color of butterscotch candy. It is mellow to the nose, with an initial burnt fruity citrus wafting out followed by the distinct spiciness of rye. Sourced from an unnamed Canadian distiller after aging for 10 years in refill ex-bourbon barrels, this exceptionally crafted rye whiskey is finished for another 5 years in the WhistlePig's very own distinct, home-grown oak barrels. On the nose are wafts of sweet toffee-coated pears, summer strawberries, and rose potpourri. The palate opens with a punch of rye, oak, and rich honey seasoned with citrus.
