The Dalmore 40 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a profound and remarkable whisky that befits this iconic distillery's legacy of quality and world-renowned craftsmanship. "The 40", as it has come to be known, is a Dalmore masterpiece aged in a combination of distinct casks, beginning with initial maturation in American ex-bourbon white oak, followed by Port Colheita pipes. The whisky is then masterfully blended with distillates that have been previously aged in both American white oak and Gonzalez Byass casks seasoned with Matusalem oloroso sherry for 30 years. Released in limited quantities and bottled at 40% ABV, The 40 offers aromatic tones of graphite, brewed coffee, raisins, and smoked marmalade preserves. On the tongue are smooth layers of apricots, minerals, and thin slivers of aged wood. About the brand

Established in 1839 by Alexander Matheson, Dalmore is a brand of acclaimed highland single malt Scotch produced by the renowned Dalmore Distillery in Scotland. The brand was family run until 1960 when one of its primary customer’s, Whyte & Mackay, took control of the company. At the time, Dalmore mainly consisted of a 12 year old iteration - however the brand has since expanded its range to include 15, 18, and 25 year old single malts, as well as a variety of specialty NAS releases. Dalmore’s rare selections include such offerings as the rare Dalmore’s King Alexander III; a unique wood finished bottling matured in 6 hand-selected wine and port casks. Another select edition, Dalmore Trinitas, was first released in 2010 and yielded a mere three bottles – selling for a reported $100,000 - $120,000 each. The brand was purchased by Philippines-based Emperador Inc in 2014 and continues their legacy of highly-collectible single malt whiskey today.
