About the brand

Extremely fascinating! Achieves precisely what means to. Nose is exemplary Johnnie that is until a solid impact of fiery rye comes in. Taste follows the nose: oak peat cherry and a little chocolate hit the sense of taste followed by an eruption of rye that waits a long while. Finish waits for a little while and has in excess of a whiff of whiskey about it...enough that whiskey/American bourbon consumers will welcome this one regardless of whether they don't ordinarily like scotch. Wouldn't get it as a backbone scotch yet worth the lavish expenditure if adding something special to an assortment.

Great nose. A solid trace of oak and unobtrusive smokiness. Smooth completion and a distinct taste of rye rather than other JW mixes.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Winter spices and sticky brown sugar melting in a pan. A hint of zesty fruit hides away underneath (think Curaçao orange and green apple).

Taste

Dark chocolate, creamy vanilla, spicy oak leading into recognisable lively rye notes.

Finish

Vanilla and white pepper on an oily, sweetcorn finish.
