Barry Crockett Legacy Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey 750ml
Midleton whiskey has a style characterised by elegant and fragrant flavours and the use of US bourbon barrels in their whiskey's maturation. Named after the distillery's second generation Master Distiller, Midleton Barry Crockett Legacy is part of a selection of pot still whiskeys, matured in only American bourbon barrels with a small contribution from a pot still distillate that has matured in an unseasoned American barrel. Nose: New-mown roughage grain sage rosemary papaya ghee tinned organic product plate of mixed greens (you smell both the foods grown from the ground tinned metal can) heated apples green mangoes new ground espresso pipe tobacco. Subsequent to resting for some time some vanilla and shockingly zappy cedary oak develops. Sense of taste: Rich natural gritty and profound zest appearance - practically like mango chutney and raita. Sweet from the start on the facade of the tongue it increases rich however delicate zesty tones as it moves around the mouth - ginger orange and some nectar. Colossally expressive and fulfilling - it helps me to remember goat tagine with mint tea as an afterthought. There is a brilliant force that is adjusted by a profound zesty warmth and a verdant oat nearness that is rarely far away. Finish: Extremely long and waiting. The sense of taste gradually segues into the completion and the home grown flavors bit by bit move away supplanted by a most reviving sweet minty note in the delayed flavor impression. Following pouring the nose is somewhat out of control on this bourbon yet with a couple of moments of rest everything begins to unwind and consolidate. It never loses its dull home grown and fruity profile be that as it may (fortunately!). Try not to include water - it just cuts back the volume and this one ought to be delighted in at full power. There is something in particular about this that is uncannily similar to probably the best Mortlach articulations. An out of control hearty substantial character that is here adjusted by a fine home grown fruity nearness. Perhaps they should consider it the Mammoth of Midleton"? I delighted in this enormously and it was an incredible method to complete the present tasting of Irish bourbon. The main issue is its excessively significant expense. For a similar cash I can purchase genuinely brilliant barrel quality freely packaged Scotch whisky that on a par with this far shrouds it. It's an amazing bourbon nontheless and suggested on the off chance that you have profound pockets. "Magnificent" : 4.5 stars"
