Seagram’s first introduced VO whisky as far back as 1913, crafted in celebration of the marriage of Thomas Seagram, the son of founder Joseph Seagram. This exceptionally blended whisky is composed of an estimated 20 select Canadian whiskies and is distilled by both Gimil and Valleyfield distilleries of Manitoba and Quebec Canada, respectively. Officially launched to the market in 1917, Seagram’s VO Canadian Whisky is aged a minimum of 6 years and derived from an otherwise undisclosed mash bill. Now a part of the Diageo family of brands, the VO in VO Whisky is the cause of a bit of a debate among whisky lovers across the world. Some say it stands for Very Old, in keeping with the declaration of it being a blend of very old Canadian whiskies - while others claim VO stands for Very Own, as this is Seagram’s very own whisky blend.
