Brooklyn Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750ml
Established in 1810 on the Isle of Jura, north-west of the Island (and Whisky region) of Islay. As with many other Scotch distilleries, Jura went through a rough patch in the first half of the 20th century. It wasn't until 1960, when two local estate owners, Robin Fletcher and Tony Riley-Smith rebuilt the distillery and introduced taller stills that allowed Jura to create a wider mix of malts. Jura’s Whiskies are just as unique as their place – a range of rich, seafaring Whiskies – some lightly peated, others carrying a heavier peated profile, but each and everyone with a distinct, yet sincere character. If Jura's one of the most famous Whisky sanctuaries of the world, Brooklyn is the craft food and drinks capital across the pond. An unusual collaboration between master distiller Willie Tait and the famed borough’s most inventive food artisans gave birth to the dram that breaks all the rules. Isle Of Jura Brooklyn Single Malt Scotch Whisky is Kings County first single malt Scotch Whisky. Although technically still made in Scotland, this Whisky is as Brooklyn as it gets – from the flavour to the flair.

About the brand
The distillery was founded by the Laird of Jura, Archibald Campbell in 1810. The distillery fell into disrepair but was restored in 1884. Around 1900 it was again in disuse and dismantled. In the 1950s two local estate owners Robin Fletcher and Tony Riley-Smith keen to revive the local economy had the distillery rebuilt and expanded by the architects Lothian, Barclay, Jarvis & Boys with input from whisky and distillery expert William Delmé-Evans. The work was completed in 1963, and included the installation of taller stills, allowing the distillery to create a mix of malts.

Rich gold shading maybe a little red color. Decent fingers on the glass yet it doesnt have a thick or slick mouth feel. Nose helps me to remember lemon and olive. At first sharp with a little consume on the tongue yet it bites the dust rapidly to the focal point of the tongue somewhat acrid. The completion isn't rich however there is at last a little peaty ocean breeze and a little gloomy oak. Others remark on pleasantness however I dont get that with the exception of a little in the completion. Not a terrible pour unmistakable and irregular profile. Be that as it may it doesn't present the multifaceted nature or profundity I review from other Jurassic I review.
