Introducing the Batch 1 release of Castle & Key Small Batch Wheated Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey - originally launched in 2022 to 11 select US states in a limited run of an estimated 11,000 bottles! Produced in a simultaneous two-batch series, Castle & Key Small Batch Wheated is the brand's first foray into wheated bourbon since the distillery's restoration in 2014. Batch 1 was derived from 49 select barrels and is bottled at 50% ABV. Aged for a minimum of 5 years, this superior bourbon whiskey is composed of a mash bill containing 73% white corn, 10% wheat, and 17% malted barley. Expect a nose of smoke, caramel, white pepper, strawberries, cloves, crushed mint, and baking spice over a palate of vanilla, minerals, graphite, fruit candies, and juicy raisins finished with citrus. About the brand

Established on the ruins and decay left by the decommissioned Old Taylor Distillery built in 1887 by Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. - Castle & Key began its journey of reclamation in 2014. The distillery's buildings were reconstructed by Will Arvin and his team and renamed Castle & Key in honor of the aesthetic castle-like structure, reviving this once historic monument to its former glory. Castle & Key released its first spirits in April 2018 with a grand opening celebration held in September that same year.
