Jameson Five Oak Cask Release Single Pot Still embodies the traditional Irish whiskey-making style from which it takes its name. Crafted from a blend of malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled, it delivers an unmistakable silkiness with distinctive pot still spiciness. This Five Oak Cask Release is matured in a combination of three different types of virgin oak—Irish, European, and American—in addition to ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. Bottled at 46% ABV (92-proof), the result is a whiskey that is both complex and smooth, with rich layers of flavor. The nose opens with wood-driven notes of cinnamon and nutmeg intertwined with rich toasted oak, sweet honeycomb and salted caramel, complemented by hints of zesty fruit. About the brand

Contrary to its origins in 1780 Ireland, Jameson Whiskey was actually founded by Scottish-born lawyer John Jameson. The brand began as part of 6 main whiskeys produced and distilled at the Jameson Distillery located in Bow Street, Dublin Ireland. However, production of this iconic whiskey was taken over around 1966 by Irish Distillers, a subsidiary of French aperitif manufacturer Pernod Ricard; owner of renowned brands such as Chivas Regal and Absolut Vodka. Originally available by the cask only, it wasn’t until 1968 that this superior whiskey could be purchased by the bottle. Since that time, Jameson Whiskey has expanded the brand and is now sold in over 130 countries worldwide. This distinct Irish whiskey uses a unique triple-distillation process along with expertly sourced oak barrels from England, Spain, and the US in the creation and aging of all of its whiskies.

One of the best I have tried, serve over ice or just neat to get the best of this whiskey. Very smooth and is easy to get carried away with this one.
