The Whistler Double Oaked 5 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey

Ordering and delivery were both fast, so that's a plus. So far as the bottle itself, I was trying to get a bottle of "The Whistler Single Malt Irish Whiskey, 5 Year Double Oaked." Apparently, The Whistler recently changed their labels to something busy, overly complicated and quite short on information that matters. The bottle I have is a white label with the information clearly shown; double oaked, 5 year, single malt Irish. With amazingly complex flavor. This new bottle is a blue label with tiny scripted writing, most of which is completely unhelpful and irrelevant. The writing is so small that I used a magnifying glass and still didn't get any helpful information from it. Can't tell if it's a single malt or a blend, can't tell the age, can't tell how it was finished, etc. The whiskey inside the bottle is NOTHING like the one I'm trying to buy again. This one is very bland, no layers or complexity; nothing at all like what I was looking for or what I thought I was buying. The taste is average at best. Not a bottle I'd buy a second time. There is no complexity at all and the smoothness is also missing. I think I'm destined to view my favorite single malt Irish as a fond memory of something that no longer exists. Even the distiller's website is exceedingly unhelpful in this regard and when I show a photo of the label on the bottle I'm trying to find, everyone looks at me like I just showed them a picture of a planet that doesn't exist. Incredibly frustrating that I can't purchase what I want, but that's not Frootbat's fault.
