Launched in 2019, the Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series is a collection of masterfully crafted special-release bourbons uniquely finished using a range of techniques from singular wood staves and innovative barrel maturation to curated aging. This featured bottling of the 2022 BRT-01 Wood Finishing Series is the 4th release in this acclaimed collection and highlights the adept methods and finishing Maker's Marks is known for, along with the influence wielded by the strategic placement of barrels in rickhouses. Maker's Wood Finishing Series BRT-01 is NAS whiskey matured using ten newly toasted American oak staves and showcases the temperature finishing imparted from resting in barrels stored in the hotter top of the rickhouse. Expect notes of caramel, butterscotch, and warm spice laden with honey throughout. The BRT iterations were created as a pairing (BRT-01 and BRT-02) and named for the hand rotation of barrels by Marker's remarkable whiskey masters.
